Introduction
IBM MobileFirst Platform provides an open, comprehensive and advanced mobile application suite for smartphones and tablets. This suite helps organizations of all sizes to efficiently develop and manage hybrid, native and mobile web applications. It uses standards-based technologies and tools, mobile-optimized middleware, a variety of security mechanisms and integrated management and analytic capabilities. IBM MobileFirst Platform offers the fastest and most flexible hybrid development and the most advanced native development, as well as platform extensions for cloud integration, testing, quality monitoring, sentiment analysis and security scanning capabilities.
Objective
The IBM MobileFirst Foundation Workshop is designed for customers who are interested in implementing a mobile application platform using IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation and the IBM MobileFirst Platform suite of offerings. A complement of presentations and hands-on lab exercises will enable you to understand how to accelerate the development of mobile applications and provide management of deployed mobile applications using the IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation.
Agenda
• IBM MobileFirst Platform Overview Presentation
• Lab – Explore MobileFirst Studio, IBMBank app architecture and optionally build a simple hybrid mobile app from scratch
• Lab – Extend IBMBank application using the web service discovery tool and local JSONStore APIs
• Lab – Deploy an application using the IBM Application Center and a full MobileFirst test server
• Lab – Manage application life cycle through MobileFirst Console with direct update and in-app notifications
Audience
This Proof of Technology is for IT managers, architects, administrators and developers who are evaluating IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation. No prerequisite knowledge is required, although it would be helpful if the attendee has a basic understanding of the principles of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript or enterprise applications in an infrastructure environment.
Cost
This session is offered free of charge. However, participants are responsible for their own business travel expenses.
